S4C: Cornerstone of Welsh Culture
S4C is one of the strong pillars of Welsh culture and language. It is the only television channel exclusively engineered to air in Welsh; therefore, it becomes very instrumental in preserving and promoting the heritage of the nation. On S4C, a viewer can find a wide range of programming covering news, drama, entertainment, and children’s shows—all in Welsh. This language immersion is very important to keep it alive.
The environment in which S4C operates is, however, challenging.
